HOW TO TONE BLONDE HAIR EXTENSIONS

How to Tone Blonde Hair ExtensionsIf your hair is super light or ash blonde, you might find it tricky to get extensions which are the same shade. Here are our tips on how to tone blonde hair extensions so you can get the perfect match.

HOW TO TONE BLONDE HAIR EXTENSIONS: STEP ONE

The first step to toning your blonde hair extensions is to invest in a really great shampoo. We love the Tigi Fashionista Violet Shampoo as it not only tones your hair but is super hydrating so it wont cause any damage to your extensions.

HOW TO TONE BLONDE HAIR EXTENSIONS: STEP TWO

To tone your extensions, fill a bowl with lukewarm water and add a squeeze of your Tigi Fashionista shampoo. Swish this around with your hands so that this dissolves into the water. Before toning all of your extensions, it’s important to conduct a strand test so that you can see how they will react to the toning shampoo. We recommend doing a one clip weft first so that you can test this out! Dunk your weft into the water and gently massage the shampoo and water combination into the hair. You don’t need to do this for long, only around 20-30 seconds as any longer will turn your extensions lavender! If this test strand looks ok, go ahead and repeat the process for each weft.

You’re well on your way to the light extensions of your dreams, just a few more steps! Once you have dunked all of your wefts into the purple water, you need to rinse each of these thoroughly making sure to start with the first weft you used.

Place your extensions on a towel and pat dry to remove any excess water. You can then leave these out on the towel to dry naturally overnight.
