Amla Juice For Hair Growth And Fall
First of all, amla is a natural immunity booster and that is why it’s considered the most preferred hair care ingredient. It contains oodles of essential fatty acids, which strengthen hair follicles, giving your hair strength and lustre. More importantly, amla is rich in vitamin C. In fact, the surplus of vitamin C in amla helps in stopping premature greying. What makes amla an indispensible component of hair care is its high iron content and the presence of potent antioxidants; its ellagic, gallic acid and carotene content improves blood circulation around the scalp thereby stimulating hair growth and also providing relief from dry, itchy sca
You can either use amla oil or amla powder or amla juice for your hair. Depending on the kind of mask you are aiming for, you can buy amla in any of the above forms from shops. But you can also make them at home. Here’s how.
How to make amla powder at home: Take a few amla pieces – fresh of course – and cut them into small bits. Dry them in sunlight for a few hours. Grind them into a fine powder and store it in a jar. Mix it with other natural ingredients to create extra powerful recipes for hair growth.
How to make fresh amla juice at home: This is quite a simple process. Just take a few amlas, depending on the quantity of juice you want to make. If you want to make a glass of amla juice, take 3 amla fruits and cut them into small pieces. Add a glass of water and put them in a juicer so that you can extract the desired liquid.
How to make amla oil at home: Take a few amla pieces and boil them. De-seed them and then dry those pieces. Take coconut oil and add the dried amla pieces in them. Heat them for about 20 minutes in the coconut oil. Allow the concoction to cool down a bit. Then store in a jar, away from sunlight. Alternatively, you can add amla juice to coconut oil and then give your tresses some warm amla-coconut oil massage.
Normally, a person loses up to 100 hairs (out of 100,000-150,000 strands on our head) each day. These will just amount to more than one clump. But, if we start losing several clumps of hair each day, then it becomes a veritable cause of worry. No, this doesn’t quite indicate that you will soon go bald, going at this rate. Hair fall isn’t a disease and one can avail of several kinds of treatments that can contain relentless loss of hair. DIY hair treatment with amla is certainly one of them.
But before you opt for any anti-hair fall treatment, you need to consult a general physician first. This is because you need to first find out the root cause behind hair fall and what type of alopecia you are suffering from and then you can chalk out an effective method of treatment against it.
Some of the significant causes of hair loss include hormonal imbalances, medical conditions such as anaemia, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), eating disorders, thyroid, autoimmune disorders such as lupus, Vitamin B deficiency and a disease called trichotillomania (basically, a disorder that makes people compulsively pull out their own hair). Then there is something called Telogen effluvium or TE, which is a type of hair loss that is triggered by stress or a traumatic event in your life. In that case, you need to destress and eliminate the source of stress in your life. TE can also be caused by nutrient-deficient diet. So you should immediately consult a dietitian and draw up an effective diet chart that can battle deficiency of any minerals or vitamins that might be contributing to massive hair loss. Of course, there are several other factors that can lead to TE. For instance, pregnancy, childbirth, any kind of accident or a chronic disease can abet TE. So, any hair fall treatment in this case will depend on what a medical practitioner will prescribe and proscribe. But, in general, massaging your scalp and hair with amla oil can only help in boosting hair growth. Just warm the oil and massage your scalp with it. You can get quality amla oil in any Ayurvedic store. Otherwise you can make your own amla oil at home.
